Depart Nairobi at 7:00 AM, driving through central Kenya’s scenic landscapes towards Meru National Park, known for its diverse wildlife and unspoiled wilderness. Arrive at your lodge/camp for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive, spotting elephants, lions, buffalos, and the rare Grevy’s zebra. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Elsa’s Kopje Lodge.
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive, exploring the park’s diverse habitats, from open plains to riverine forests. Visit the Tana River, home to hippos and crocodiles, and explore the former home of Elsa the Lioness, made famous by “Born Free.” Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild, then continue searching for rhinos at the Meru Rhino Sanctuary. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Elsa’s Kopje Lodge.
After an early breakfast, check out and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a renowned wildlife sanctuary dedicated to rhino conservation. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge/camp. In the afternoon, visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see rescued chimpanzees. Continue with a game drive, spotting rhinos, lions, buffaloes, and cheetahs. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Sweetwaters Serena Camp.
